You don't know if their email security system strips off attachments or anything like that. You don't know what mail client the receiver is using, whether they are using a web based email app, an Android powered device, a Mac, an iPhone, etc. One of the problems with adding animation or sounds or special formatting or anything like that to an email is that the sender has no control over the receiving end. It's because Safari is a browser, capable of displaying gifs, and Outlook is an email client, which doesn't display them. You can obviously put in static graphics, but as DerbyDad says the recipient would need to have their system set to automatically download all images for that to work, something a sensible email user would never do. Check the emails you receive and I don't think you'll ever see one with an animation within it, simply because of the limitations of emails and the email clients that read them. Does anybody know why? Not an animated one. When i send it to a Microsoft outlook email it doesn't show. Hi guys i am adding an animated gif to an email, using safari.
